The practical training and selection camp is in full swing. A great three days in the labs at Waikato University hosted by Dr Alison Campbell was followed by a challenging practical exam. Then it was up to Auckland and a day studying bird behaviour at Tawharanui with Prof. Dianne Brunton from the Institute of Natural and Mathematical Sciences at Massey Universities Albany Campus. The students modelling Pukeko behaviour was hilarious! Today we are in the labs with Ann Wignall and Daniel Thomas studying spiders and reptile evolution. We also had the opportunity to meet two gorgeous Duvauchelle’s geckos, thanks to Manu Barry for bringing these beautiful animals into the lab for us.
